Interesting debate. Dr. Gnaka's contribution was full of insights. For many of us, on the ground in Cote d'Ivoire unfortunately, the current post-electoral crisis gives us the feeling that world superpowers, led by France, are using elections in Africa as an excuse to impose the leaders of their choice... Also, by playing the role of an electoral judge, at the requests of world superpowers, the UN has failed the Ivoirian people's longing for democracy. For the sake of democracy and the credibility of the so-called ïnternational community, why can't we just run a vote recount and check on the claims that the rebel-led North cannot possibly have held free and fair elections?
